If I was a female, this post would just be the best.
I can’t breathe
I’m a dude and this belongs on my tumblr haha
I still can’t get over this.
So accurate its unbelievable
Have some progress screenies :P
I intend to update/expand upon the hair editing/painting video tutorial I did in Jan last year, and I keep telling people I can’t promise when I’ll get it done but yep it’s still on the to-do list.
As a brief description though, for “extensive” editing I take 3 screenshots (Ctrl+(number from 5-9) in tab/camera mode to save my camera angle, then F10 to get rid of the interface, then I use FRAPS to actually screenshot)
1) Horse + rider positioned in background (for the shadow)
2) White photo backdrop inserted behind horse and rider (this is the one I actually work on mostly, because it means when I’m done I can just slap it onto the 3rd screenshot)
3) The background without horse + rider (for easy background tweaking without worrying about it affecting my sims)
These screenies are of the 2nd screenshot WIP (rider one taken separately this time because the pose was sizing her stupidly). ELF Emrys cut out of white background, being scribbled over with a tiny hard brush (some colours colour-picked from him, some variations of those and some randomly made up lol) which I then blend using the smudge tool (gasp!) also using the default hard round brush at tiny sizes, and 91% strength (which stops it looking smudgy and ew). I tend to make an “overall” scribble layer, then go back and rework it in patches.
Edit: For anyone interested, white backdrop options are Murano’s on TSR, and Sixtyten’s from Living Sims. Murano’s one is found under deco > rugs so is easier to find, while Sixtyten’s is in misc deco, but I think that’s the one I use since I just saved it in my Equus collection folder. :)
